255 rare birds rescued in Savar

Wildlife Crime Control Unit of the Bangladesh Forest Department rescued a total of 255 birds of different species from bird traders at Savar, on the outskirts of Dhaka, this morning.

A WCCU team in a drive seized the birds in the morning, said Ashim Kumar Mallick, wildlife inspector of WCCU.

The birds include: 180 Spotted Doves (Tila Ghughu), 3 Hill Mynas, 71 Munias and one Kalim (Purple Moorhen), he said.
