Training on Fish Feed inaugurated at BAU
The inaugural ceremony of the training program on “Fish Feed Formulation” was held online in Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Mymensingh, Bangladesh on 4 January 2021. Bangladesh Agricultural University, in partnership with Wageningen University (WUR) and Single Spark, The Netherlands, organized this two‐week training under the project entitled ‘Strengthening the Linkages Between Feed Optimization, Fish Production and Healthy Diets’.
The training program has started today 4 January and will continue till 14 January, 2021. A total of 54 trainees from different public universities of Bangladesh, DOF, BFRI, FAO, WorldFish, NGOs, Aquafarms, Fish Hatcheries, Feed Mills are participating this training
Prof. Dr. Lutful Hassan, Vice‐Chancellor, Bangladesh Agricultural University was present as the chief guest in the event. Prof. Dr. M. Mamnur Rashid, Dean, Faculty of Fisheries, BAU, Md. Yousuf Khan, Deputy Director, Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries & Livestock, Dr. M. Enamul Hoq, Chief Scientific Officer, Bangladesh Fisheries Research Institute were present as guest of honour in the ceremony.
Trainers Prof. Dr. Marc Verdegem, WUR and Sam van Veluw, Single Spark , Feed Calculator, The Netherlands were also present in this inaugural ceremony.
This training is organized and coordinated by Prof. Dr. Harunur Rashid, Faculty of Fisheries, BAU. This is a TOT (training of trainers) training and a total of 54 trainers will be developed through this training who will be able to train others on basic principles of fish nutrition and fish feed formulation using ‘Feed Calculator App’ developed by Single Spark.
