TrailBlazer 1.0 Business Plan Competition held at BAU

Bangladesh Agricultural University Career Club (BAUCC) officially drew the curtain of “BAUCC presents TrailBlazer1.0: Business Plan Competition” in Sayed Nazrul Islam Conference Hall, BAU on Saturday (October 13) at 4 P.M.

This mega event was sponsored by a Dutch project entitled `Development of an Entrepreneurial Ecosystem at BAU’ and supported by ACI Limited, Bangladesh Youth Leadership Center (BYLC) and Young Sustainable Impact Bangladesh (YSI BD).

Prof. Dr. Solaiman Ali Fakir, advisor of students affairs of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU); Prof. Vin Morar, International Entrepreneurship Development Specialist, University of Twente, Netherlands were the special guests and Prof. Dr. Lutful Hassan, Project Leader, Department of Plant Breeding and Genetics, BAU was the Chairperson of this program. Dr. Bapan Day, acting President of BAUCC, presided over the closing ceremony.

Prior to this, Bangladesh Agricultural University Career Club (BAUCC) first launched one of its most awaited and amazing event named “TrailBlazer1.0” from their official facebook page. After that, BAUCC spread it to all over the campus by postering, frescoing, social media boosting and so on.

Consequently, it appears so worthy by receiving a huge response for the first round. After exquisite evaluation, top 15 teams were short listed for the second round of this competition among 76 teams. In second phase, BAUCC organized three inclusive workshops on business Plan Preparation and presentation in order to equip the students with necessary basic and advance skills.

After a meticulous evaluation, an expert panel of judges selected top 5 teams as finalists. Finally, the top 5 finalists pitched their innovative business ideas on the grand finale of “TrailBlazer 1.0” in front of an international judging panel. After securing all the steps TrailBlazer1.0 found the winner “Team Utopians” where “Team Trinity” & “Team Triangle” secured 1st Runner Up and 2nd Runner Up position respectively.

In the closing ceremony, all the speakers and judges expressed their amusement about the quality of the event and it’s necessity for BAU. Tanmoy Kumar Ghose, General Secretary of BAUCC, expressed to work jointly with the Dutch project to spark the flame of entrepreneurship among BAU students and also emphasized to set up collaboration with the private sectors for fostering the growth and progress of Bangladesh Agricultural University in his remarkable speech.

However, Dr. Bapan Day thanks to all the judges, sponsors, participants, audiences and all BAUCC members for shaping a successful program and left the believe that in future many more versions of TailBlazer will take over the time in his closing speech and officially drew the conclusion of “BAUCC presents TrailBlazer1.0”.
